MISSOURI CLEAN WATER COMMISSION TO MEET JAN. 4 IN ST. LOUIS

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 27, 2005 -- The Missouri Clean Water Commission will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m., Jan. 4 at the Holiday Inn South County Center, 6921 S. Lindbergh Blvd., in St. Louis.
The Department of Natural Resources will present to the commission a plan for completing the impaired water list and drafting legislation related to water quality standards, permits and financial assistance.
Department staff will present findings on the use attainability of four water bodies: Maline Creek, Coon Creek, River des Peres and the Mississippi River below dam 27. Staff will also seek the commission's approval to use State Revolving Fund monies to establish a low-interest loan program for onsite sewer systems for the Ozark Clean Water Co.
The commission will have a full agenda of administrative matters, variance requests, enforcement issues and staff updates. A complete agenda can be accessed from the department's web site at www.dnr.mo.gov/env/wpp/cwc/index.html.
