JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 23, 2008 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will open an exhibit featuring many popular and unusual items on July 3 at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site in Jefferson City. The exhibit, "Missouri State Museum's Cabinet of Curiosities," will be housed in the Rozier Gallery of the Union Hotel at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site through September 2008. The exhibit will include many infamous items such as a model 1874 Gatling gun, a mastodon tusk, the shoes of Ella Ewing, considered the Missouri giantess at 8' 4'', and many other fascinating items relating to Missouri's history. This exhibit will show what a museum would have looked like 200 years ago.
Jefferson Landing State Historic Site is located at Jefferson and Water streets in Jefferson City.
