JEFFERSON CITY, MO., JULY 25, 2008 -- Investigate the night sky at a stargazing event on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event begins at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
The evening will begin with an astronomy program by the Kansas City Astronomy Society in the theater inside the historic site's visitor center. Following the program, visitors will depart to the top of the battlefield for stargazing from dusk to 10 p.m. In the event of rain, the program will still be presented.
Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is located on Delaware Street in Lexington.
