JEFFERSON CITY, MO., JULY 25, 2008 --Bollinger Mill State Historic Site in Burfordville will host an astronomy event on Monday, Aug. 11, the night of the Perseid Meteor Shower. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event begins at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
The event will feature an interpretive program on astronomy and how it was historically used in agricultural practices. Visitors will be able to see the Southeast Missouri State University's Show-Me Explorer, which is a mobile museum with exhibits on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
To get to Bollinger Mill State Historic Site, take Highway 34 to Highway OO to Highway HH in Cape Girardeau County.
